Historical Background

Charlton Crossing Subdivision, located in Douglasville, Georgia, is a serene and affluent community that reflects the region's growth and development. The land on which the subdivision stands has deep roots in the history of Douglasville. Named after Senator Stephen A. Douglas of Illinois, who was also the namesake of the city, the area was originally a blend of rural land before urbanization began in the late 19th century.

 

The town of Douglasville was officially established by the Georgia General Assembly on February 25, 1875. Located just a few miles west of Atlanta, Douglasville grew rapidly with the expansion of industry and transportation networks. Charlton Crossing Subdivision was developed by Benchmark Homes from 1990 to the present.
